So this Dr. Gross (no relation), goes public questioning ARod's diagnosis from the Yankee doctor.

Not only does it violate the CBA, which isn't all big a deal. But the bigger deal is that Gross was apparently in hot water with the NJ Attorney General for "failure to ensure proper patient treatment involving the prescribing of hormones including steroids"

It appears that MLB is now expanding the ARod investigation to include his relationship with Dr. Gross.

I have $20 that says the PR guy wasn't consulted until after the doctor went public.

There had to be a better way of handling this, but I'm willing to bet the Yankees are doing everything they can to keep A-Rod from playing, because, and I forget where I read it, but if he misses the whole year the insurance company begins to chip in on his salary.

Gross, the chief of orthopedics at Hackensack Medical Center in New Jersey, said he was connected with Rodriguez through a mutual colleague who is a physical therapist.
"I explained it [to Rodriguez] as a little unusual to just look at an MRI without actually examining the patient -- and I'm not a radiologist -- but I'd be happy to look at the MRI," Gross said.

This is, to me, even bigger than the reprimand for hormones/steroids, which could really mean anything.
