A kick has no go 10 yards. His clearly did not come close when it went OOB.

And you want the ball to get a high bounce off the carpet to have any chance of recovery

no because teams have learned to fair catch the high bounce, so now you need the double high bounce.. He went with the spin kick and it spun a ton.. just didnt get that last bit of turn.

I think the up the middle kick is the best bet.

Saw one recovered in a game today

Nice. I haven't seen one since the rule change. It's probably the most exciting play in the game now gone. First thing you have to do is make sure it goes 10 yards. At least give yourself a chance.
