Seems like that's an issue for us every year -- guys try to make big hits but bounce off, or they chase a guy down for what should be a loss but can't bring them down, etc. Every year, same thing.

Yesterday, the open field tackling was superb. Hope it's a sign of what to expect under Tony White.

Agree completely. It’s amazing how much better the D is when they simply wrap up. Encouraging.

I’m gonna be honest, I know it’s only been 1 game but going off some things I saw last year and the game so far this season. I think we actually have quite a few NFL guys on the team which hopefully translates to wins.

I think for sure NFL guys
Garrett Williams
Andre Szmyt
Wax
Thompson
Tucker
Bergeron

Likely
Chestnut (only one game, need a bigger sample size)
Bear
Dakota Davis
Carter

Will get NFL camp invites
Kingsley
Black
Taj

I think it’s been awhile since we’ve had this much NFL talent on one team. Include last year with Trill, Cisco and Iffy. Babers doesn’t have a problem getting NFL guys, his problem seems to be translating that to wins and putting all these guys together to get the pieces to fit right. I actually think this is the most talented team we’ve had under Babers, the only part that worries me is the QB spot and hoping the O-line can stay consistently good like it did yesterday for the whole season

I feel like we had this thread last year and the board had about 25 guys on NFL rosters. There are a couple obvious ones (G. Williams, Tucker), but guys like Bergeron, Wax and Thompson are far from locks. You didn't even mention our best LB; Mikel Jones.

Other than Duce, all the guys on the "likely" list are not likely in my opinion. I feel like Justin Pugh is our last Olineman to make a roster and you have 2 of 5 likely or for sure in the NFL. Last night was a very nice start to the season, but I think we may want to pump the brakes just a tad.

I honestly can't remember the last time we tackled that well. I said in the game thread that it felt like NFL-caliber open field tackling where guys just don't miss tackles ever.

We may end up with a guy or 2 but would be shocked if its more than 3-4. We have guys who play well all the time but never have the elite speed or size the NFL wants. I dont see NFL with Tucker unless he gets into the perfect system spot. Oline who knows its a crap shoot and often its about how guys develop the work ethic to make a team.
