I'd be curious to know, for teams on the bubble, how making the Quarters of a p5 conference impacts their respective chances on selection sunday, assuming they lose in the quarters. How much does it come in to play, even if to get there you beat someone bad, like a PITT this year? I think the the human element of saying Notre Dame is in the Quarters of the ACC, plays a role in subconsciously weeding out bubble teams. Or at the very least has certain teams freshly in the committees mind.

The data could refute all that, but I suspect it contributes. thoughts?
