I'm thinking that the Rose Bowl is worth $80 million/yr, and the Champions Bowl is supposed to be worth around $80 million/yr, so the Orange Bowl should be in the sam egeneral area.
 
Assuming that the SEC gets 2 teams into the Football Four most (a.k.a. almost every) years, then there are 2 slots open for the Big XII, Pac-12, B1G, and the ACC to fight over.
 
That means that odds are, in most years, the picture will look something like this:
 
The Rose Bowl is going to be between the Pac #2, and the B1G #1, the Champions Bowl will be against the SEC #3, and the Big XII #2, and the Orange Bowl will be the ACC #1 v. the B1G #2 (I am assuming that the Orange Bowl will get the best remaining team)
 
Is a game between FSU and Michigan really worse than OU v. South Carolina, or Oregon v. Ohio State?

If not, shouldn't the payout be really close? I know its time slot isn't as good, but it is a game in the national championship rotation, and I actually think that FSU v. Michigan would get more fans/better ratings than a game like OU v. South Carolina.
