I would think given all the bad press from Bernie Fine, this would have been killed. Seems like a lower profile would be the best approach under the circumstances.

Why? Were Fine's shenanigans University endorsed?

Be loud, be proud!

That is freaking sweet thanks Oburg. When I saw that I had an epiphany. I understand why we are NY's team now, or at least the vision. What is the biggest TV market in the US and one of the biggest in the world? NYC. Where else would you find so many TV cameras? It is all about getting something like that splashed around the Nation/World and making people fans. I understand the branding that Gross is now talking about. Like him or not, I think he knows buisness well.

If I was a consumer I see this going through my head. Wow that looks really freaking awesome! Who are these people on this building? Google... Really cool history. Google.... Pretty good school. Google.... Great athletics. Amazing Basketball. Google..... Schwarz is a douche...... Maybe I will pay attention to these guys.

I wish that was a larger image.

OT. Is Oburg Ogdensburg? Just wondering. Was born there and got lots of family still there.

I'm of the opinion that the football program should save the razzle dazzle for the field until further notice.

Honestly, I bleed orange and love seeing this as a down stater, but if you're not an SU fan and see this, how can you not laugh? We're a crappy football team yet we market ourselves like we're big time.

Yawn. Save the ad dollars and hire a big time recruiter.

Biggest time of the year in the Big Apple. Probably was planned for a long time -- long before the BF situation unfolded. I have no issues with it.

If it were my client, I'd postpone the media buy. Just my professional opinion. Take it for what it's worth...

I could be wrong, but I believe the Big East is behind this not SU. I saw the same electronic billboards welcoming UCF and SMU to the Big East via the Big East twitter feed a few days ago.

I would guess that we got money from the DTAC and the Giants/Jets.

If you are using a PC, right click the image and select "View Image", it will bring you to the full-sized version

It looks Ernie Davis themed, I'd assume it has to do with the Heisman.

SUinNYC, are you with a marketing agency? Just wondering because it's something I'm somewhat looking to get into as a sport management/marketing student soon to be a graduate

Gonna go out on a limb and say the Big East isn't advertising Syracuse University.

I work for an advertising agency. My career advice would be to not work for advertising agency.

Haha wasn't planning on advertising but thanks for the advice haha

I wouldn't be so sure. Until we are officially gone from the Big East they are going to do everything they can to make money off of us.

They've already started to act as though we are gone.

The Big East paid for the ones advertising the new members, but they wouldn't have paid for the ones advertising SU in the City - especially since that is one of the reasons the ACC coveted us. The Big East will want to ignore or belittle our NYC presence as much as possible.

Cheers,
Neil
