just wondering who will be there?

I'm lucky enough to have they opportunity to golf with TexanMark and GoSU96 this year. I'd like to meet whoever possible from the board who will also be there.

Looking forward to it ladies and gents.

As always, Cuse CUse CUSE!!!

Ditto. Hope the forecast turns around

my plans fell through, but its a great day for those that get to attend.

hope the crew made it through unscathed.. nasty storm rolled thru mid round it looked like.

Good seeing all of you folks there. That event reaffirmed that this coaching staff is an incredible group of guys. They have a helluva recruiting class going and I think it will only get better.

Now, time to win some ball games.

A few nuggets.

Expect more realistic OOC schedules coming, waiting on new AD to OK. Hopefully announced by Aug 1 for AD. Ft Drum is a go. Academic HS record for recruits very important... Expect very few to no borderline kids going fwd. No decision yet but most think fixed hard shell roof for Dome is best bet at the moment. I'll be off for awhile... Prepping to fly back to TX.

Another nugget: Coach Shafer stated he loved that Steve Gregory wants to do the rookie work to learn his craft. He is very humble and doesn't forget his roots. Personally, I see him being a postive influence. If things work out and there is a staff opening you can imagine he'll {Gregory} be a terror recruiting the NYC Metro with Acosta. He didn't mention it...but IIRC Gregory's wife is a local to CNY...that has to help.

Acosta stated he loves working Miami-Dade area and he believes he has reestablished great relations with almost all (if not all) Miami Area schools that McD worked. He said 90% of the time the Mom is the decision maker with recruits...but sometimes the Dad is in charge and many cases the HS Coach is very involved. He loves his players (WRs) and he expects a big leap this year. Look for a couple more highly recruited FL/NJ kids to join. Coach Acosta is the real deal and within 2 mins of meeting him you really like him and want to play for him. Fun tidbit: several FB coaches and boosters...gave Coach A crap for his "Rutgers Orange Red" jacket he wore.

I talked to Coach Adams...expect a couple Chicago kids...in the mix for spots in the next class...primary emphasis is on big uglies. Coach Moreland looks to be a great hire...I think our OL improves this year. He looks like he will be a VG recruiter...exc communicator.

Finally Coach Shafer stated 17 of our starters missed 4 or more games last Fall...let that sink in.

They fully expect to go 3-0...and go to a bowl game.

Great post Mark. I loved getting Gregory back on board and if Acosta can work Florida and New Jersey, well that guy would be earning his salary - to say the least.

Motley Crew was -2 at 9 holes...tournament cut short due to WX...Finwad an Go kept us from embarrassing ourselves with some good shots. Coach A and myself both made a few shots too. Great event...will be back.

We had three Syracusefan teams each sponsored at the highest level. Watch for Finwad and Me stalking the sidelines during the CMU game.

Sorry my team had to blow everyone away with an -8 to bring home the title. Our grand prize were front seats to a private death match between Shafer and Dabo.

Thanks for all the info - great to hear some news in June.

One thought: I understand that we want kids who we know will be academically qualified, but as a program, Syracuse has built itself by bringing in 2-4 academic risks who the top 10-type schools can't afford to take a chance on. I hope we do not go away from this.
