oregon zone read halfback option with mariota as the tailback

Well Syracuse doesn't have Oregon's talent, so it would never work. Add more TE's.

...seriously though, this is the stuff SU needs to be integrating this Spring. It puts so much pressure on the defense and these are the easy yardage plays, not the bubble screens.

we have two running QBs, it's a way to use kimble. should be easy enough for either of them to do a little toss.

Absolutely. Not to mention you have Broyld as well- hell you could have him take the snap with Hunt and Kimble next to him in the backfield. You don't need NFL talent to run some of these plays and turn them into points.

I think McDonald was on the right path in terms of trying to use some of these approaches, but he just had no clue how to put plays together and reverted to bubbles because they were safe.

He had the right ideas, but could never quite put everything together. He had no purpose when attacking defenses and was completely right when he described in that article how he picked his plays.

I would just be happy with running screen passes that integrate some semblance of blocking defenders so the WR doesn't have to break out of a gang tackle in order to get back to the LOS. That would be pretty cool to see for once.
