Wouldn't it make more sense for him to play up an age group. I don't see how shooting on a rim that he can dunk on flat footed will help his technique. If anything, it seems like it would hurt it.

Thought the same thing -- it is asinine to have a kid that tall playing against kids half his size, on an 8 foot hoop. Shame on the coaches / that league for not finding a better situation for both the 6-10 kid and the other kids in that league.
