OT: 4 Teams Plus Model

Option #4: The 4 highest ranked teams will play in two semi-final bowl games, with the two winners advancing to a title game. The B10 and P12 Champs will always play each other in the Rose Bowl.

In the event that either the B10 Champ or the P12 Champ is ranked in the Top 4, the top 4 remaining teams will be selected for the two semi-finals, and 2 finalists will be selected from the winners of those 3 games.

If neither the B10 nor the P12 Champ is ranked in the Top 4, they're out of the "4 Teams Plus" model anyways.

In the "Four Teams Plus" model, if the B1G or PAC champions are in the Top-4 then none of the three games will be labeled a "semi final". In fact, one of the three games will turn out to be "just a bowl game" since the winner will not move on to the Championship Game.

Anything other than a straight mini-tournament (Final Four is a mini-tournament) is a mess. If you're going to do 6 teams then you might as well make it 8 - Top 6 rated conference champions and the next two highest rated teams. This could let one conference have 3 teams in the mix. Other than the seeding, which could be messed up due to the Rose Bowl compromise, there'd be no arguments... just let 'em play it out on the field.
