Pitt AD looks to prohibit betting on NCAA sports

Testifying to a Senate Judiciary Committee, and in an effort to have betting on college sports prohibited, Pittsburgh athletic director Heather Lyke said Tuesday that ACC shools unanimously oppose gambling on NCAA activities.

And this Pitt AD was their spokesperson at a congressional hearing Wednesday. These clowns got time for these hearings but can't fix the damn virus when every other country in the world practically has. Wasting their time worrying about betting on college sports, give me a break.

We finally just get legalized sports gambling in NY State and watch these clowns ruin one of the few things I truly enjoy and placing bets on Saturday's during the college football season.

Are you really surprised that the colleges and universities would want top prohibit gambling on college sports? Serious question.

I am not arguing for or against gambling on college sports, not discussing the merits for and against gambling, just the point that you are surprised.

Or is this just frustration that the virus is still active in the U.S.?

When MA gets sports betting we won't get college sports so its drive to RI still for me.

it also shows that they worry about something that really has little effect on what they do, (game fixing) but want to stop something that creates a higher level of viewership (tvmoney). Even for the people on this board what is the number of fans that root for SU that are alum vs fans for other reasons and gambling is one of them.

and stopping legal betting will just push it back underground cause it wont stop it.
