I have the opportunity to get a parking pass in th VA garage for next season. That's a helluva lot shorter walk to and from the Dome as opposed to the Booth garage where I was this past season. I'd appreciate hearing any pros and cons about parking there.

I park in the Irving garage next door. It's great because of the walkway from level 5 that goes directly to gate C. However it sucks to get out of there post-game!

Sucks getting out. Oakwood cemetery is the best psrking at the Dome. 81 north in minutes.

I usually park at the lot on the corner of Harrison and University. You can shoot right down University to Erie Blvd and pop onto 690 East. It works out perfect for me.

This past year was the first time the garage was only made available to veterans and preferred season ticket holders. The nice thing is hardly anyone parked there but other posters are right. If you don't get immediately out of the dome you WILL be waiting a while to get out. Pedestrians and street traffic get right of way by the police and they pretty much hold everyone in the garage which is BS.

That being said if you sit close to the gates that exit directly to the back side of the dome and you can get out quickly I would do it. I sit in 311 lower end and I can get out gate m pretty quick. If I decide to renew my tickets I will get passes for the garage. It is really a easy walk up especially if you use the Irving garage elevator or stairs to the bridge.

Thank you for all the replies. It wiill certainly help with my decision making. Maybe Booth doesn't look so bad after all...

You folks are all so spoiled. Your "tales of woe" sound perfectly normal/routine for getting out of parking garages in NYC! :):):):)

I've never had as long a wait in a NYC garage as I have in the Irving garage. I'm talking a complete standstill for 45 mins to an hour. All you can do is get there early to park as low as possible and be really aggressive about getting in the line :noidea:

I've had a pass in Standard lot for years and park right in the back 25 feet from the exit. I'd grab it if you could. I still dont know how people can park at Manley and get shuttled over.

As many have said here, it depends on a few factors. I parked in the VA garage for all my games this year.

First, I get there an hour and a half early for every game because I just love to take in the dome, the warmups, and everything else. This allows me to go to the left (lower) area in the garage before they put the barricades up, and park near the exit. This is extremely important. Once you have to go up one level, you're screwed.

Second, I am also in 311, so it's already on that side of the dome and quicker to get to the garage after the game.

Third, the female police attendant in the booth at the garage is real cute.

Bottom line, if you can commit to getting to the games fairly early on a regular basis, I think it's not bad at all. I live in Rome and I am almost always home by 10:00 for a 7:00 game.

I'm kind of like you. I have a routine I use for every game. I park in the VA garage have a specific floor I park on and a specific exit and sit on the best side of the Dome to get out to that garage. I've never been stuck in line for more than 10 mins. Usually it's 3-4 mins and I'm on 81 quickly and home in 20 mins.

Hey... another thought. Go to Club 44 for an hour after the game. That way, you'll have no wait at all. And even if you did, you'd be more mellow about it.

Great idea but hard to justify the 50 bucks per game. :noidea:

For $50 a game booze should be included

Yeah, after spending 45 minutes waiting on line to get in, the 20 minutes you wait in line to get out of the VA garage will seem like 5.
