OT: Chris McManus to leave Upon Further Review

Friday will be has last show. It was his decision to leave.
I like the show... best of the Syracuse shows that I listen to (thanks to TuneIn) from time to time.

I wonder if they'll bring in someone new or give Axe more airtime.

Chris and Steve had the best radio show in Syracuse. Surprised to see him go. I hope they keep Steve on in a similar role, he's great too.

This had me concerned, not sure what they are going to do with this show now as the known options aren't so great.

I liked Chrisand thought he was good.

Tough to get paid in that industry, gotta chase the buck, if that's what he's doing.

Every solid host we get locally moves on, gotta go to the bigger marketplaces.

Terrible news. It was the only Syracuse radio show I listened too. Other then McManus the only other guy I like is Infanti. I would love to see them dump that dbag Sal Manheen or w/e his name is and pair Steve Infanti up with Steve Niekam. Come up with some corny Steve and Steve show. Just please I can't listen to more Sal, Lindsey, Axe, or godforbid Bud and the Manchild. Disappointing news.

I'm with you on that one. Chris was great to listen to and added a positive vibe in regards to Cuse sports. His partner is a miserable oaf that reminds me of eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. Bummer.

Some of my favorite moments in the show was when Chris would tease Steve about the Mets and Steve would just go on a 5-10 minute rant in the way that only a Met fan can. Reminded me of my friends trolling each other. They had good chemistry and let their personality come through.

I liked how they went from trying to reason with idiot callers to just taking all the nonsense like "SU should go get Nick Saban" and putting it into one Allstar moron highlight reel.

At the end of the post game show this week he had a good interaction with a fan named Gus that was in that light. My 10 year old son was dying in the truck about it.

Sounds like he's getting out of the radio business. I don't want more Axe, but I'd be willing to bet that's what we get.

Axe could have three more hours and still cover the same amount of stuff he does in his current one hour show. Heck, just send 5 minutes on his twitter and you don't need to listen at all.

I hope Chris figures out what he needs to and feel it's good he had his priorities straight, just selfishly hope we get someone different than the current lot to take his place.

It'll be interesting to see who (if anyone) they'll get to replace CM. As others have mentioned, it's a tough business being a sports radio jock. I know when Axe was starting up on 1260, he had to do all of his own sales. I think Galaxy has the same policy- I'm pretty sure the KRock team spends as much time selling ad space as they do working on their show. And the only reason ML has a show is because he's an experienced salesman who is self-sufficient in funding himself.

I would definitely tune in to the "Steve and Steve Show".
