I am glad to see Denver win, but I just don't like the NFL OT procedure. Pittsburgh should get their chance at a drive too.
I actually like the rule. If you score a td you deserve to win.I am glad to see Denver win, but I just don't like the NFL OT procedure. Pittsburgh should get their chance at a drive too.

I think its very fair. If you win the toss and drive 80 yards then you deserve it. If you start on d and stop the other team all you need to do is kick a fg to win it. It balances out.Because you won the toss?

Wouldn't giving both teams possession of the ball at least one "balance it out" even better?
The one thing i dont get is why they wouldn't make it the regular season OT rules first since you would get way more attempts to see how it plays over multiple games.

I dont think it is as much about encouraging TD's as it is trying to eliminate the 15 yard completion and kick a FG ending.I get wanting to incentivize teams to score a TD, makes OT more exciting. But they were kinda copying college football with their both teams get a possession concept, and they only went halfway. Most pro fans hate college OT anyway, so seemed like a needless rule change to me.
It's only a matter of time before the NFL eliminates FG's altogether. Next phase out rule will probably be to drop them to 2 points.
Yes, I absolutely agree that each team should get at least one possession.I am glad to see Denver win, but I just don't like the NFL OT procedure. Pittsburgh should get their chance at a drive too.
