Not sure if anyone is watching this Michigan St - Michigan game, but Verne just pointed out that Derrick Nix was a 27% FT shooter his freshman year...and now as a senior, he's at 75%. How remarkable is that? And more importantly, why do our players always seem to regress in that area?

Im watching. Shocking i know

I think, that it only "seems" like our guys regress. I'd like you to supply some data to go along with your statement (not saying you are wrong)..
Free throw shooting is only part of the game also, look at South Dakota. They are 2nd in the country at .783 Ft while only 10-19. Granted, it can't hurt to be a good free throw shooting team, JB usually doesn't place a high priority on FT shooting while recruiting.

I have no data to support my statement. But doesn't it always SEEM like our guys get worse?

One guy who I think made a marked improvement was Etan Thomas. But even this may not be true (or significant)

Look at the kid at Wisconsin, Ryan Evans. Went from 61% as a frosh, 74% as a soph, 73% as a junior to 41% this year. And now he's taking jump shots instead of your typical FT attempt...

The one's I find noteworthy for improvement are Joseph, Nichols, Watkins, Warrick, and Thomas. Scoop is in a league of his own on the flip side.
