OT: Didn't realize beer was such a New England thing...

Interesting distribution of states where people drink the most beer.

Three New England states in the top 10... but Connecticut ranks 50th... so I guess that is why I didn't realize how much beer is drunk in New England.

Sorry, we're a state of wine drinkers
New England also well represented in smoking pot. So much for puritanism.

We have some work to do apparently in CT. I should spend less time down the shore.

If it wasn't for Marsh, NY(48) might have battled Conn. for the 50th spot.

wonder what the #'s would be if you took out shipments to high tourist destinations...

You can't count out all of the microbrews in New England. Whenever I visit Maine, NH, and Vermont I see lots of people drinking microbrews. Also, the restaurants tend to have a lot of American fare (steaks, burgers, and the like), which lends itself to a nice, cold beer. :)

And what's a good shore dinner or lobster without a few cold ones.
