It's been reported that the Lakers asked for Waiters in addition to Bynum to get a deal for Gasol done; the Cavs said no...then this came out

Sam Amico‏@SamAmicoFSO
Also, sources tell @FOXSportsOH another team (not #Lakers) has offered #Cavs first-round draft pick for Dion Waiters. No further info yet.

WOnder who it is...still believe Dion can be a really good player in the this league given the right situation.

He can definetly be a good player in the league, he has shown the ability to get to the rim with ease most if the time, he can hit the jump shot and the 3, although he isn't consistent.
And I too wonder which team offered a first rounder...has to be teams with weak perimter scoring in that combo position. It will eventually come out. When that moment happens I'm putting you in charge of posting it here...lol

Please not Minnesota(THE SU KILLER!!)
Obv no one wants to see him go there. So let's all pray he doesn't end up there. Do we have any minn fans here??

The Sixers have two 1st round draft picks this coming year and NBA draft.net has them taking two guards with their picks.

I hope Dion finds the right situation but as a Sixers fan and I'd really prefer that MCW get a chance to sink or swim on his own without Dion (or any other SU alum) in the mix.

You need to understand there have to be reasons Cleveland is shopping Dion besides his basketball abilities.

There is probably something to that no doubt, but his trade value is something to be desired. Combination of both, IMO. He still has a way to go til he hits his ceiling. So his value is pretty high.

True. Last I heard, the Bynum-Gasol trade was held up because the Cavs are refusing to give up Dion, and the Lakers won't do it without him. So it sounds to me like his potential is outweighing anything else.

I think GM's see Dion as an explosive talent with a high ceiling, despite his tendency to chuck it. I hope he winds up in a quality system with a coach who isn't afraid to set him straight every once in a while.

It also may be that there is an issue with the wrong player. If Dion and Kyrie aren't getting along, Cleveland isn't going to trade Kyrie.

Dion needs structure and a coach/vets he respects. I still think he would be a great 6th man/heat check guy for a team that is almost there. I think if he gets put on a young team, it won't end well.

As an aside, while I think that Cleveland can't trade Kyrie, any superstar that doesn't have a career 35% winning percentage that gets hurt all the time has to be considered a overrated at the current time.

Well if its because he and Kyrie can't get along, someone has to go and it won't be Kyrie.

I think that is the bulk of it. Dion has played pretty well this year. Unfortunately, he would be the odd man out in Cleveland. This may not be a bad thing in the long run.

I just Dion doesn't go to a team with a Kobe or a Melo. He needs to be a focal point of offense for him to truly shine. I hope he gets that chance somewhere.

Haven't wached them all year and know they aren't playing good, but he would do good on a team like brooklyn, strong pg who can shoot the three, another perimeter shooter/driver in Pierce and Garnett to come out the middle and open the lane for him.

Plus Garnett would keep him straight.

Philadelphia would be good for his talent and to quite his mouth.

Make an ass of yourself and look selfish on your own. I don't think he'd bring down his city though.

Well, the Bynum deal is about off the court stuff if what is rumored, is correct.

I still think he is mostly a PG in the NBA. The right place and situation and he will be fine.
