Class of 2022 OT/DT Avery Henry (OH) Offered

Just crazy... not a single player from Ohio on our roster currently that I am aware of.

Would be great if he committed.
Have not been able to get players out of Ohio. Feel Cincinnati gets a lot of players we would like.

That's not really true that we haven't had players from Ohio. Andrew Armstrong and Troy Henderson are two recents that come to mind.

Honestly I don't care where the players come from as long as they can contribute, are coachable, keep their grades in good order and don't get into trouble.

I get what he's getting at though. Making inroads into a state with a lot of prospects that's not to far away would be beneficial.

In recruiting it's about finding the best player that fits your needs and scheme wherever they may be, in this country or in Canada. If the staff gets kids from Ohio that meet the teams needs, great, but not just recruiting the area because it's close. Different year, different needs, different availability of the best player to meet those needs in different states.

Absolutely. And making inroads into a state filled with good prospects is likely to increase the pool of players that fit our needs, is it not?

St. Clairsville is really more Western Pa, or West Virginia than Ohio regardless of where the state line is. All Steelers fans. Not that it matters.

Wait, that’s not really him, right? I haven’t paid a ton of attention the last few days but whoever that guy is, he’s a ginormous.

Any idea what’s inside that 2 liter bottle he’s holding?
No that’s not him, just an example of man mountain!

This is him in the back middle.

We need more OL recruits.

I like that we are looking at big kids from Hawaii, but there are some good kids closer to SU too.

Demon Moore, IND
Emir Stinette, PA
Mason Mennell, OH
Kendrix Goodman, OH

We need to start winning some recruiting battle against other power 5 conference schools. Does anyone really expect to be able to compete against the big dogs in the ACC with mid-major talent?
