According to ESPN trying to swing a deal with Howard and Turkoglu for B. Lopez and two first round picks. If I'm the Nets I'm making this trade asap.

On the bright side for us Knicks fans, Melo/Stat/Chandler might be the best frontcourt in the NBA

If this deal goes down I would like to hear from all of the people who posted on the old board that the Knicks were the best spot for Melo and that he would win titles there. Now he won't even be on the best team in NY after a year.

Dwight and Deron is a great start, to be sure. But the Knicks should be pretty damn good as well.

Maybe so, but the Nets don't get Deron if Melo comes to them first.

I'm a Nets fan (even worked for the team in the mid 90's) and would be thrilled if Dwight Howard comes to town, but I'm also well aware he wouldn't wanna come if the Nets didn't have a top-3 PG on their roster.

Funny how things work out.

But don't dismiss the Knicks just yet... They're a young PG away from dominating the East (along with Miami) for the next 5-7 years.

I love Melo, but the Knicks gave up too much for him, really limiting what they could do afterwards. They gave up almost every asset they had. That's why signing Chandler is the best move they can do. Ironically, if the Nets got Melo, the Knicks might've gotten Deron Williams for less (as the Nets did) ad have a good shot to add Howard. Imagine Dwight Howard, Deron Williams, and Amare together.

I like Brook Lopez as a player, and as a Nets fan, but I will be elated if we get Howard. It might convince D-Will to stick around as well.

If youre a Nets fan, you just have to hope that nothing comes of those potential tampering charges, it seems thats the only thing keeping Howard from going to the BK. Humphries and Howard = REBOUNDS.
