For the Fitbit owners, which version do you like and why? Looking to buy one for my wife, who is a health nut.

Big FuelBand proponent. Although someone told me they were discontinued?

Sync with all iOS devices immediately and are great for tracking and trends.

I own the cheap $80ish one and enjoy it a great deal. I had my doubts but it does push me a bit more because I find myself competing against myself and others who also have it on a daily basis. Find myself taking stairs at work instead of elevator for a few extra steps lol. Definitely worth it IMO.

My kids got me the FitBit Charge for Fathers Day and I like it for the reason you say. It's a nice little motivational tool, both to get more activity and sleep. Not a bad thing.

I think they are a complete waste of money. Shes better off counting her calories.

I said the same thing to my wife. She wasn't thrilled.. It's diet & exercise, not how many steps you take in a given day. I think it's a total waste of money.

exactly. I think some like the idea due to it being "cool" and "stylish". i feel its a good indication of a sucker...

I got the Charge HR.

I've lost a little over 15lbs since the end of March. As of this morning I'm 1.7lbs away from my first goal weight of 175.

I love it, and for me it helps keep me motivated. While obviously diet and exercise are important, there are days where I assume I'm being active and then see I'm only at 6,000 steps. It keeps me active, gets me out of the house on days when I might be inclined to stay home.

Not everyone needs it, but for me it works.

Rocco - Will give you the lowdown because I know, then you can DM me if you have questions.

The line up in wearable fitness bands from fitbit is as follows:
Flex - $99.95 MSRP
Charge - $129.95 MSRP
Charge HR - $149.95 MSRP
Surge - $249.95 MSRP

They have other products but they are not bands. They have pedometer configured ones that do the same thing as the flex as well as connected scales.

The Charge HR and Surge have Heart Rate monitoring, the other 2 do not.

The other brands of note out there are below:
Jawbone
Misfit - Flash, Shine - http://misfit.com/?locale=en
Garmin - Vivofit, Vivofit 2, Vivosmart, Vivoactive https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/cIntoSports-c571-p1.html
