OT: Five Recruiting "Intangibles" Tony Bennett Looks For

After wondering how Virginia could keep turning out highly successful teams with under-recruited players, I found this a seriously interesting read:

No matter the skill level of the player, Bennett believes possessing a certain degree of “competitive fight” and “grit” is mandatory.

Well, when we got punched in the face last night, it certainly appeared that we had neither of these.

I think it might be just a bit more nuanced than that. ;)
 
He definitely knows what he’s looking for beyond talent and he is damn good at identifying it in people. You could argue he is the best recruiter in the country based on the results.
