So I was at a party in KC the other night, primarily occupied by KU alumni. Some girl (who on a side note was at least an 8) asked me where I was from. I told her from Syracuse.

Her response was, "oh... Go oranges!!!"

At least the color was right. The 8 grade was based on her appearance, not intelligence.

Here's a thought: we could capitalize on that name recognition by wearing orange in our uniforms. It'd be marketing brilliance and the kids would love it!

yeah right - like that would work - i like the way we keep people baffled by calling ourselves the orange and not using the color

It would help if we went back to OrangeMEN...and women, but Kanter had to neuter us. Add that to the Lack of ORANGE in the uni's and I see why people think our act isn't together. But, I'm old school. Bring back 44.

I gather that she at least featured grapefruits. ;)

This reminds me of the bonehead move by the Athletic Department years ago. I think it was before Gross. Anyway, they commissioned some dumba$$ consultant to propose new colors & logos for SU. The S Heads came up with purple and wolves. A prime example of why you never engage consultants.

Our mascot is an orange so I can see the confusion. Really, a bag of oranges swung really hard could do some damage. Something just short of a compound fracture. So, that is maybe a compliment!?

All I could think from reading this thread title...
