OT: good read on Royal Ivey

Thanks for that.

He started in Engineering (must be a sharp guy) but the workload for that is probably the hardest of all the undergrad degrees - no wonder he switched to Education (no offense people!) and then sadly didn't finish that either.

It's good though that a guy who didn't finish school got a second opportunity. He's apparently got the brains and some money (I hope, to pay for it the old fashioned way).

It's the guys who bank on getting drafted, but who don't make it (or don't last long), that perhaps have it the worst in this regard. It's about the only thing about college hoops that seems "wrong"...not that I have a "fix".

Thansk Fireball! When I think back to 2003, there are 3 or 4 things that quickly jump out, in addition to Hak's block, Melo's dominance and Gerry's threes. These are the things I quickly think of:

-Feeling like we were toast down big vs Ok St but as soon as the trunk monkey press went out, even still down, thinking we were going to win.

-Getting tickets from Auburn's ticket office for Alb. They asked if we were grads and even it was clear we weren't, the women still processing our request because they needed to unload them...

-The feeling of standing and clapping with about 12K other cuse fans at Pepsi. I turned to my buddies and said "our games at the dome are less of a home crowd feeling", since that place was so intimate. We had an olde rAuburn couple near us and they were amazed that the Auburn block had nothing but Orange fans.

-Billy E and how he got to the rim at will at big moments.

And Hak's dunk over RI!

This is a very typical Bill Rhoden article. Bill goes beyond the headlines to find stories with a human element and a message. I always enjoy his articles.
