...is something to see. I've lived in Florence AL for 20 years now and our local HS team (#5 in the state) has a home playoff game against Hover (#1 in the state) tonight and they have pre sold 8,000 tickets. 3k to 4k people a game are normal. People tailgate for HS football games on a regular basis. I would have loved playing HS ball down here.

Watched my sons High Scool team lose tonight in the State playoffs in front of 12,300 in Leesburg Georgia.

That's nothing. There's this place in Piscataway, NJ that draws 50,000 to see their local high school team play. I think they play at High Point Solutions Stadium and wear red.

Unless you're a current student or have a kid or family member playing, why would anyone who isnt a college football coach or scout care about high school football?

The South needs Buzz Shaw.

I think that's a little absurd...I love going to watch my high school football team play. Granted I'm only a couple years out of high school. I barely know anyone on the team anymore but I still enjoy cheering on my hometown team, my parents still go to games too, even some away games and I didn't even play football.

There is a significant amount of town pride. People support their alma mater (because they didn't go to College) and locals go to H.S. games for lifetimes.

Agreed - I think it's most common for people that live their entire life in the same town; I have relatives that went to every Union-Endicott vs Vestal game for 30-40 years.
