The Winnipeg Jets are back in the NHL, bringing something back that the world hadn't seen in 15 years.

Now the fine fans of the 'Peg want to bring back something else from 15 years ago ... the urinal trough. That's because the separate stalls just take too much time and that's valuable hockey guys waiting in line are missing. Hey, they're trying to make up for 15 years of lost time with their team here. So they have launched a petition, asking for the trough to make a triumphant return to Winnipeg in the new MTS Centre.

Here's a little more (and a lot more pee puns) from the CBC.

More than 230 people have signed an online petition urging MTS Centre to build better urinals for men.
Many fans say the lineups are so long they end up missing part of the game. Potty petition
"Oh, it's killer, it's killer, especially when intermission comes. It's very long waiting," Jets fan Don Lavallee told CBC News at the NHL game Tuesday night.
No doubt, speed is increased, but there are drawbacks too. After all, there's a reason why you don't see troughs almost anywhere now.

"Too much stage fright when you had the trough," Harvey Grindle said.

"Like, you're hearing about all these people in the paper all the time, these kind of perverts and stuff, you don't want to be next to that. It's not comfortable."

For now the urinals aren't going away down the stream. It's unlikely any change will be made so the fans will just have to zip it. I like a beer at a hockey game as much as the next guy (really, a beer at the rink just seems to fit) but if this is that important of an issue, might want to save on the drinks. Your wallet will likely appreciate it.

Why can't we just live in a world where pee troughs and urinal stalls can sit side-by-side in harmony!!

Why can't there be both? Why do we have to settle.....:(

Still using the urinal trough at Ralph Wilson stadium. I've never realized before but it definitely is a quicker trip to the bathroom than other venues. If it's not broke, don't fix it!

Wow Upstate. Great to see the grass roots movement is taking hold. Indeed, the third party will be a factor in 2012.
