the Dr's office was running "behind" today. My 11. a.m. appt became 1 p.m. As I am waiting, having not had a thing to eat in over 30 hours, the staff is debating what to have for lunch. How about Pizza? How about Chinese? How about a little sensitivity? One more in my life. 5 years is too soon.

Condolences. That kind of treatment just isn’t right for someone having that procedure.

Glad you made it through.

Did you have the Kansas fan doctor again?
He wasn't a Kansas fan. He played for Kansas. And he was good. Back when I was in school. I looked him up. 3 time double figure scorer. Sadly, that was last time and he has retired.

I'm guessing...colonoscopy? I hope everything came out okay...especially yesterday. Otherwise you've got to do it all over again!
(Hope you're well:))
Okay, after all of that, I had drank all of the drink in one setting as I always have. This Dr wanted me to do it in two installments. The second being at 5 a.m. So after the procedure the Dr says you should do this again in 6 months to a year. No. I said. I will buy UConn Season tickets before I would have another one in 6 months to a year.

Having done this recently, you are a wise man. Oh and flock UConn.

The last two I’ve had used the split prep approach. Getting up early to do the second part was just adding insult to injury at that point. Hungry, tired and no coffee? That’s just not right...

When I had one done last year, the nurse taking care of me found out where I taught. Upon discovering that I had her friend’s children as former students she asked if she could tell them she saw me. Um, no thank you.

Had mine a couple of months ago. Instead of the prep they gave me what seemed like 800 horse pills. Biggest pills I have ever taken.

Sounds like you’ve earned yourself a tullys tender dinner and a few uncle charlie’s
Not to stray too far from the topic at hand, but my cousin, who formally is from Utica/ New Hartford named his fantasy baseball team Uncle Charlies. He lives in Bethesda now, but it’s an homage to his hometown.

Now back to our previously scheduled conversation.

About 15 years ago my wife, then a medical malpractice defense attorney, was in court for a court conference in one of her cases and the Judge was addressing a dispute over the scope of a HIPPA medical authorization. The next day she was having a colonoscopy.. As she was being wheeled into the room the patient right before her was being wheeled out. It was the Judge. As they both uncomfortably recognized each other as they passed, she said "So much for HIPPA, your honor."
