Indiana Football Player Arrested on Drug Dealing Charges in Apartment Complex Across From Football Stadium

Antonio Allen, a junior defensive back at Indiana, has been suspended following an arrest that includes multiple drug dealing charges. Allen, who led Indiana with 74 tackles last season, was picked up on Tuesday on two counts of dealing methamphetamine, two counts of dealing heroin and one count of dealing cocaine. He also faces multiple possession charges as well as maintaining a public nuisance.

According to Rivals, the level 2 heroin charge means there was a firearm involved, but none of the other outlets reporting on the arrest have picked up that detail.

I am always amazed at how willing college athletes are to throw away their scholarships and the opportunity they can provide. I shouldn't be anymore, but I am. Every single time.

Easy money until they get caught. How many other players knew he was dealing should be the next question.

Drives me crazy how athletes throw away opportunities that I would love to have but can't physically.

Good stuff. Just to clarify what Rivals apparently doesn't understand, IN state law says there are 2 possible levels of charges for felony heroin distribution - a B felony and A felony. There are more factors involved in order for this to reach an A felony, one of which is if sold within 1000 feet of a school. Selling drugs while in possession of a weapon is an aggravating factor which will not look good for him, doesn't necessarily mean the gun was involved in the sale, though it may have. Could be why no one is reporting this.

kid should have chose fl st or ohio state or 1 of the other major league schools - would have been nothing -

poor choice of school was his first bad move

He didn't appear to have those offers but your premise is correct.
