First, Chris Clark transfers after playing in one game.

Now, their star linebacker, Myles Jack, has withdrawn from school after having played in three games this season, in order to enter the NFL Draft. He's injured, but still...to withdraw from school completely?

Very bizarre move on his part.

And Leroy Jethro Gibbs

Ringing endorsement from Jim Mora:

UCLA coach Jim Mora said he will continue to support Myles Jack as he pursues the NFL, but called it "risky" to leave after playing in just three games as a junior. Here is a more of what the former NFL coach told reporters Tuesday: "Having been on that side, there’s going to be a lot of speculation as to what he is and where he fits. And as I told Myles on Sunday, NFL teams are very, very conservative and if there’s any question whatsoever, they’ll pass on you in heartbeat. They’re going to take the sure thing and I explained that to him, but I feel like they already made their decision and so, like I said, I hope it works out the best for him, but I, as a guy that spent half of my life in the NFL, I would move with great caution."

Not really. He can now sign with an agent, collect endorsement money and go rehab full-time. If he knows he's gone, it makes perfect sense to start earning money now.

Definitely don't think it was a bizarre move to WD from school. Actually think it was smart. He's going to make millions playing professional Football, he wasn't going to graduate in Januart anyways, so might as well WD, and focus 110% on rehabbing your knee. By withdrawing he can sign with an agent, and get the absolute best treatment/rehab for his knee and be ready to go by training camp. From a PR standpoint it doesn't look that good, but from a business sense that's the best decision he could have made for himself imo.

Mora does come off as a complete dbag who only cares about himself, and winning football games. He definitely gives off more of a professional feel where it's winning over everything, all while treating his players like college athletes with all the yelling and disciplining. Obviously we have no idea if this is the case or not, but his program doesn't give off that family feel that a lot of other programs give off.

Sounds like he came from the Boeheim school of endorsing a player.

Different sport but it seems to have worked for Chris McCullough.

Did McCullough really withdraw from school after he got injured? If so I missed it because I thought he was planning on returning until late in the process when we went through our purge of the roster.

Not sure. Hopefully he did complete his requirements because of that APR thing. The injury and not coming back to play didn't keep him from entering the draft though.

I've heard rumblings that Mora isn't the easiest coach to play for...so the reaction of his doesn't really surprise me.

Here's the thing

He gets $5.5m if he is not drafted in round 1

He played the game and comes out a winner. Heck, he could skip combines and just do private workouts and get drafted Round 2, make a few million there, and still collect the $5.5m ... If I was him I would hope for that second round slot

Yep, Saban without the titles.

Now that's interesting.
