Washington State's new head coach has informed several players, who committed under the previous regime, that they no longer have a scholarship and will not be able to sign with the Cougars, At their request, this network is being blocked from this site. reports.

Running back C.J. Brathwaite (West Bloomfield, Mich.) summed up the stance of new coach Mike Leach to At their request, this network is being blocked from this site.:

"Washington State called me and they told me that they don't think I fit what they are looking for in the new defense. That's fine. That's life."

I'm sure he's not the only one. Are their boards exploding with anger?

There is actually 9 of them. It snowed like hell up in Pullman this weekend, but I don't see any excuse making or hand wringing over weather. Actually a couple of So Cal kids that liked it. Imagine that

Well, has ESPN etc been telling people for decades how crappy our weather is?

No one on ESPN talks about Washington State.

Next point?

They're featured on gameday every week.

Please define "snowed like hell". I'm sure Pullman's definition is vastly different than CNY's definition. Seattle is closed down today due to "record setting" snow fall...5-12 inches.

His only other listed offer was FCS North Dakota State. Yikes.

One wonders if Mr. Wheatley would be interested... doubtful.

They just won a National Championship. It's not so bad.

It's the same as many of these kids that we have recruited over the years.. We have offered and their only other offers have been Delaware St, Hofstra, Villanaova etc. Good 1AA programs

I understand that, have you ever been to Pullman? Eastern Washington? regardless of snow which pullman gets probably 20% of what CNY does but Pullman isn't exactly a hotspot

Understood. I actually think we agree on this...SU's biggest obstacles improving the program have far less to do with geography and weather than it does with facilities/financial support.

"If you build it, they will come" I think I heard TGD utter those exact words.

Marrone did the same thing when he came in. He evaluated the kids that Robinson had commitment from and pulled offers and kept the kids he saw as legit players, Lemon, Pugh and Phillips.

It also makes sense if Leach is not going to run the same offense/defense that these kids were recruited for. Why allow a kid to come who does not fit the scheme? The kid is not going to play, have his scholarship be pulled next year, and potentially have transfer issues.
