Since the Football board is in seasonal lull right now...

Lurkers and New Members...post in this thread to say hi. I know some of you just like to read and not post...but introduce yourself if you want. You might find out someone lives near you (especially useful if you live outside CNY).

On a side note: we will be running group purchases to all the road football games this year. So it is helpful if you go into your privacy settings and allow conversations. This is our Private Message system. Every year I get lurkers/new members who say I want tickets and I can't contact them via Private Message because it wasn't turned on.

Hi I'm Cuseregular and I'm a Cusaholic.

Even though we suck lately I still enjoy taking long walks across the quad feeling up the Ernie Davis statues shoes on a saturday morning, I really like meandering juants through the flowers and shrubs to Marshall street, short trips for shots at Faegans, wolfing down some fine (ahem) Varsity slices, and of course hanging out in the FINE lot with the folks down there.

I get my kicks from my new seat cheering right along side the cheer cheer Cheerer of them all whose name rhymes with hat who has been known to tell opposing coaches "you got nothing". I also like wearing orange colored clothing justs for the hell of it game day or not and love to yell at the TV so I can hear in my head Buzz telling me I really should go get a life. Just can't help myself though.

I'm almost as bad as some guy from Texas with this orange passion but luckily no one can be THAT crazy about all things Orange. So I'm Cuseregular, very nice to make your Orange aquaintance...

Hello everyone, I'm a LONG time lurker here. I really enjoy checking into this site many times a day to see what's happening
with the Orange. I use to read the posts over on Syracuse.com but would get nauseous after 2 minutes. So happy to have this
Website to come to. Keep up the good work!

Peabody here.

Long time lurker, part time poster. I'm 2'7" and 47 lbs. My mother was a beagle and my father was a leg hound. Got neutered after my second marriage. Currently paper training my precious granddaughter.

Long time SU and Bills fan. Went to my first Bills game in 1968 and still lamenting the Daryle Lamonica trade as I favor the forward pass. Had a rough season.

You go way back.

Long time lurker and occasional poster. The hoops and football boards keep me connected in KS. Long time fan of SU - born and raised in Jersey but live in KS now. Was one of the 100 fans in attendance when Nassib and Lemon beat the MU tigers - what a great game and fun to taunt the tiger fans leaving the stadium

Morning! Joined the forum when our son was being recruited, and now has committed. So we are new Syracuse fans but I see a very long relationship :)
I am impressed with the amount of fans I have seen and it speaks highly of Syracuse football (win or lose). We are from Reading, PA and everywhere I have gone wearing my orange gear, I have met many syracuse fans/alumni. We are excited to see what 2015 brings! We will be attending Fine Mess (thanks TexanMark!) and look forward to meeting some of you in person!! As I am writing this Trey and AJ are getting ready to go to the IPF to throw some balls!

Daily lurker, post quite rarely. Raised in an Orange household and did my graduate degree on the Hill. Bought Season tickets in '05 and have never looked back...even talked two of my buddies into seasons this year. They still haven't forgiven me.

Been to the occasional away game in the past (Pinstripe Bowl, etc) but never through the board- will definitely consider it once the schedule is set.

By August I will have talked myself into 10-2...what can I say, hope springs eternal. Go Orange!

Hi everyone - A long time lurker here that appreciates the invitation to join the group. After reading the forum for better part of a year, I was happy to see the invitation from TexanMark to step forward and join. I am a long time SU fan originally from Morrisville NY, and now reside in Ridgefield CT with my wife & 2 boys……both growing into solid Orange fans as well.

Looking forward to commenting on the Football board as I find the journey back to football relevance is a much more interesting topic than simply wondering what seed the bball team will get in the tourney each year (although that is becoming an interesting topic as well). That said here are some quick thoughts of mine regarding where we are at;

1. McDonald - in over his head from the beginning and kudos to Shafer to have the guts to change course mid-stream when it became obvious the talent was not matching the play calling (don’t you need WR’s with wicked speed to pull off countless bubble screens?). First indication was the hand holding he needed in the booth from Lester to help read defenses, give me a break, some guys call plays from the field and McD struggled early in that regard. Had a reputation for being a great recruiter but outside of Ishmael not sure what the impact has been.

2. Give Lester a chance – from what I remember didn’t Hackett utilize TE’s extensively along with power running game & realize some success? What I have read indicates that is where Lester is headed and probably makes sense. If our reality is to only periodically get that speedy WR recruit, then maybe we can even things out with physical play that includes TE’s who can catch a seam pass every once in a while.

3. Love the aggressive defense – Bullough, Daoust, & Lee all good. Reed needs some players and hopefully they will be closer to what he needs in 2015.

4. Broyld – hope he can live up to the expectations many have placed on him. He is obviously a talented kid from upstate NY that has struggled to find his footing, my hope is he excels in 2015 and finishes in a way that will make it all worth the wait

Gooorange!

Hello all,
My name is Eric but some call me Gomeck ( Nickname from my frat days)
I grew up in upstate / western NY state around the Watkins Glen / Corning area.
My Aunt worked at Crouse hospital back in the day so she got tickets and parking passes for
Syracuse games which we would drive up for several times a year. I've been to at least one football game and bball game a year since 1991.
One of the best moments of my life was getting an acceptance letter to Syracuse University.
I now live in NYC with a degree from SU in Computer Science

LOL so yes I'm a big time lurker love this board go on here several times a day. I hope to meet some folks from the board sometime.

Big stalker here. Name is Kent. Diehard orange fan. Born and raised Orange but went to Hobart College in Geneva for undergraduate (Played D3 football and i hate their lax team especially since my father was a syracuse lax player many moons ago). Live in the syracuse area and practice as a chiropractor in Fayetteville. Love the passion each of you have and love reading each of your posts.

G'Orange!

I used to post/comment but now I just lurk (too lazy).

I graduated SU in '06 (then Wisconsin in '12) thus I've only known Syracuse during its descent...yet I keep cheering for them. I was stationed in San Antonio for 2.5 years and dragged half my unit down to the Texas Bowl. I stayed loyal when I was deployed to Africa (no I don't have ebola) and stayed up late to watch Cuse suck this year. Now I'm stationed in Okinawa, Japan (any other Cuse fans out here?) anxiously awaiting Signing Day, whether or not the bball team makes the Tourney, spring practices, summer recruiting news, and 5 Sept vs Rhode Island.
