Really seems like that shoulder is a problem. He is struggling this year pretty badly. Another bad night as he is 6-20.

I don't think the shoulder is the problem. I think he's frustrated with his teammates. He's been trying to get them involved more but they're not doing much to help. Also, from what I've seen, his defensive effort is much better than usual (so, slightly below average haha).

The whole team is in a funk right now. Hopefully he will turn it around soon, and history says he will.

I don't know. He started off on fire. I've never been the biggest fan of his shot selection even going back to his 'Cuse year. It's almost like he gets lazy and just jacks shots from outside. When he goes to the basket he scores or is fouled. When he decides to do the slow between the leg cross over 3 times and pull up at the top of the arc.without trying to drive, he misses enough to not make it worth trying. I'd rather see him take 2 or 3 hard dribbles and pull up if he isn't going to get all the way to the basket.

I was at the game and you can tell he gets visibly frustrated with the lack of calls and physical play allowed on him. You can also tell he feeds off the crowd ooh-ing and aah-ing, in person you can pretty much tell when he's just not going to pass the ball. He is also probably annoyed that noone on the team seems to be able to get him assists.. Opening play of the game he kicks out to a wide open Felton, brick.

He needs to drive to the basket more but he gets beat up when he does that and rarely gets the call.

I can see him pulling a Kobe one of these days and just refusing to shoot the ball for a game if his teammates dont step up consistantly. Bargs was huge last night and JR started off on fire.

Felton needs to go away, he's an anchor on this team from the pg position. Teague made him look like a little fat kid pulled from the stands.

I'm thinking of one play in particular where Melo had Horford on him after a switch, and instead of taking it to the bucket, crossed him over and bricked a 20 footer. Not ideal.

I'm glad the tide seems to be turning on him, I've never liked Felton

I am a Knick fan. I am a Melo fan.

However, the bottom line with Melo that prevents him from being a top level superstar is that he doesn't make his team better when his shot isn't falling. I know that is an easier thing for a PG to do than it is for a forward to do, but the really great ones find a way even when their shooting is cold.

As to yesterday, I give Melo a lot of credit, he came up big in the 4th quarter after the Knicks blew their big lead in the 3rd quarter & looked ready to fold. Also, that was probably the best all around game I have ever seen from Bargnani other than his 40+ point effort at the Garden a few years ago. I do like the way Melo & Bargs play off of one another. Big problem is w Chandler out, Bargs is playing out of position.

I would not write the Knicks off just yet. If they can stay around 500 until Chandler returns they could still be a factor.

I can understand the frustration with the lack of calls. He has a reputation of being a guy that sulks at times. He's not gonna get the benefit of the doubt with that reputation. He needs to go hard all game every game regardless of the situation. He has no right to be frustrated with bad teammates. He knew the personnel and salary cap situation of the Knicks before he went there. When he tests free agency he needs to decide what's important to him. Playing in NYC and getting the bigger bucks or maybe going to a team that's closer to winning and taking a pay cut (but still making very big bucks).

I finally liked Woodson's rotation. He stopped throwing random lineups on the floor every 2 seconds.

I'm assuming the lineup moving forward when Chandler comes back will be Felton/JR/Melo/Bargs/Chandler. Where would Faried fit if they trade Shump for him? Would Faried start, energy guy off the bench?

Go read the Knicks messageboard. People are beyond sick of him. He's mediocre offensively and way below average defensively. People can hate on our defense all they want but when your pg is completely unable to stop penetration game in/game out, you're going to have issues.

I don't like it at all, Faried offers no spacing. If you play him and Chandler together, Melo has no room to operate.

I do not like all of the criticism of Raymond. Is he the greatest PG in the NBA - of course not !! However, the guy loves being in NY and he is a warrior. If he lacks the quickness and/or skills to be truly elite that is not his fault. The guy has heart and gives effort. If there is not an elite PG in NY, that is on mangement and not on Felton.

As to a possible Shumpert trade for Farried. I like both players. Both are energy players who run the floor well. There is always room for a reasonably skilled high energy guy.

Would I do the deal? Frankly, I am on the fence if it were a straight up deal; however, I would not include a #1 (that Denver seems to want) or any other valuable asset to get it done.

Melo looks good so far.

Typical trash Felton.

Amare comes in for 10 seconds and the entire team falls apart.

I respect why you like Felton but watch this Houston game. Felton is the sole reason the Knicks are getting owned right now. He's straight up killing this team. The Knicks have the worst pg play in the league.

This summer Melo needs to move to a team that can win like the clippers, even for less money, he only has 3 to 4 years at the most to get it done. As long as Amare's contract is around the knicks have no chance to win, no cap space no 1st round draft picks.

Yea Amare is DONE. Its embarrassing putting him out there.

People should stop wondering why the Knicks want to trade Shump. I was a huge Shump fan but dude looks like Samson when he cut his hair, it's like all his game left when he cut his kid n play style.

NBA is so weak. Do they realize how wack they're making the game with this whole "everything is a flagrant" bs.

Watching Knicks/Hawks. Seriously, the Knicks are done if they don't upgrade the point guard position. Felton would be a backup on any other team and Pablo wouldn't sniff the floor for anyone else. These two guys are awful and will continue to sabotage this team all season if no moves are made.

When he went there, Amare Stoudamire was still Amare Stoudamire, averaging 25 ppg on 50% shooting, in one of his better seasons.

Now everyone knew the injury risk was there to an extent, but was he was 28 years old and still very good. Nobody knew that would be his last good season and that he would fall apart this drastically.

If the Knicks had THAT Amare, they could've been a serious contender last year.

I like Farried, but the Knicks would be better off seeing if they could trade for someone like Goran Dragic. Phoenix has Eric Bledsoe and are going nowhere, so it would seem Dragic would be expendable. He's solid and would be an upgrade over Felton, in my opinion.

Trade carmelo and shump for rondo, eat this year, get a top 3 pick ( if they havent already traded it away) and all will be good.

Hate to call this thread back, but sure, Dragic would be an upgrade for sure.

They have, Denver has it.
