My little cousin was invited to the All American Bowl at Vikings stadium this year. He needs a little help getting there, figured it was worth a shot with some die hard football fans I know. Thanks for taking the time to give his letter a read.
To Whom it may concern:
My name is Michael Raplee II, and I am currently a senior Criminal Justice Major at Alfred University. While a student at Alfred I have had the privilege of being a member of the Varsity Football Team. This year I began the season by being selected to the D3football.com Second Team Preseason All American. I am currently ranked 6th in the Nation for D3 Football at Tackles for a loss as well as sacks. I was recently named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the week.
In 2011 I played in 11 games as the starting nose guard where I recorded 69 tackles, went for a loss of 42 yards. Recorded four and a half sacks for a loss of 38 yards, broke up a pass and also caught a 3 yard touchdown reception. I was selected as a Third Team D3football.com All-American, First Team ECAC North All-Star, and Empire 8 All-Conference.
In 2010 I played 13 games recorded 87 tackles including 32 solo tackles, six sacks, and a team high 18 tackles for a loss while breaking up two passes and recovering a fumble. Was named to the D3football.com All-American honorable mention.
In 2009 started all 10 games and recorded 41 tackles, six for a loss and a pair of sacks for a loss of 13 yards. I also earned Empire 8 Honorable mention honors.
Before Alfred University I was a two-time New York State selection, having earned First Team Class D honors in 2008 while at Dundee. A year after transferring from Geneva where I was a Second Team Class B Offensive lineman as a Junior in 2007. I also earned All-Greater Rochester and All-Finger Lakes league honors as a Senior at Dundee.
All of this work has lead to me being invited to play in the 2012 All-American Bowl on December 22 in Minneapolis at the Superdome home of the Minnesota Vikings! In order for me to participate I must obtain sponsors to cover the cost which includes airfare, hotel, game jersey, banquet, and other expenses. I will need approximately $1200 to cover these expenses. I am asking your business or organization to help in anyway possible. I realize that times are difficult, and would appreciate any help you could give me in being able to participate in such an honorable event where I will not just represent Alfred University, but my hometown of Dundee and its community. All checks can be made payable to Lisa Raplee and earmarked All-American Bowl 2012. If you have any questions please call Lisa at 434-594-8751. Thank you in advance for your help.
