That's deplorable. And yet I'm barely surprised.

I shudder to think how many times this happens and we never hear about it because the victim (and/or witnesses) never comes forward out of fear of retribution due to these sick environments.

I think I'll push my daughters to all-girls schools.

Dave Hart says he was out of town (when Tennessee’s coaches spoke) meeting with lawyers on these issues. // Couldn’t get out of that???

Lawyers couldn’t have come to you. What???? Oh man.

And all he says he was doing was meeting with counsel. That is unacceptable.

So the joint press conference was planned(ish) two weeks in advance, but Dave Hart couldn't change his plans. Is that right?

If this has any validity whatsoever to it, it deserves an extremely harsh punishment from the School to the Athletic Department. No way your AD or HC should have a job after something like this, IF TRUE, did occur.

It's even more deplorable that they marched all of their coaches into a press conference to vehemently deny that the Athletic Department allows such atrocities.

This world we live in, it's a terrible place at times.

Terrible.

Worse than an athletic department ignoring a player who smacks his girlfriend around.

Too bad neither you or I make those decisions. Because in my mind, both would be handled similarly if I found out a coach or AD knew and used their power to bury a kid trying to do the right thing.

So screwed up on so many levels IF true.

I tend to believe it's true because college football seem to be "team first" meatheads.

Or just tell them is God forbid something like that happens to go to the real cops.

If it were that simple, would this be an issue?

campus cops are a joke. Their job is to protect the brand, your kid's case isn't as important. As we saw in Tallahassee, the real cops may not be much better, but you've got a better shot at justice with the real PD as opposed to the rent a cops.
