Survey of PUBLIC schools from information The Washington Post got access too.

It is ugly.

The entire Pac 12 is in the red (all but two of those reviewed.) I thought Rutgirls was bad, Maryland was BETTER than I thought...but welcome to evidence of the business of sports. Most schools have tough times with it.

(NOTE: different budgeting systems don't allow an apples-to-apples, but no matter how it is sliced...yikes.)

This helps confirm which are public universities. And that there are 11 private schools among the P-5. 2 in the PAC, 2 in the Big XII, 1 in the SEC, 1 in the B1G, 5 in the ACC.

Also confirms the crazy arms race.
 
The Indiana AD said it best, they don't spend money they don't have. I'd imagine that is what Coyle is being tasked with as well.
