This one of those situations where each side has an argument. Yes we play a lot at home in the fall -- so what. Other BB powers do the same thing. We have a great facility. We benefit financially (and politically, as Delmar points out) from playing at home against traditional in-state rivals, and (probably most importantly) we don't need to travel extensively in November/December because - at least in the last 10 years or so - many of the MM's we play are tough teams and we usually play one or two top 20/marquis teams OOC.

JB is as sick of the 'cupcake' argument as I am. As he often has to repeat, we play SOME easier teams, but many of the MM's we schedule in the fall are very good teams. If you look back over the years, we have struggled to win many of those games in years when we weren't top 10. So I get the criticism that we "don't leave the state" (although that's often debatable). But those claiming we play 'cupcakes' don't know how good some of our MM opponents are. Cleveland State is the classic example .. but there are many others. I remember playing Cornell when it was an NCAA team and I think we were lucky to win by 5.
