Just wanted to post something goofy, but noteworthy - Off Topic on SU's Offensive Tackles putting in overtime in weight room; hence the OT: OT OT. As opposed to the leaden-footed FSU OTs. Man they were gassed or slow or something. How does that happen at Florida State? Watched our DEs run circles around them. With this kind of pressure some QBs will be skittish about throwing against us. You could see it in Francois' motion at times.
So glad were not UConn or Rutgers right now.
BTW, I think we need to stop fanning the All Inclusive Rutgers Dumpster Fire until they're in a position to defend themselves. Ugly, ugly, ugly. I mean that team needs counseling and maybe a timeout.
But that's another topic. OT: TO for Rutgers.
Man, oh man, winning is fun!

As for Rutgers: In the indomitable words of Dungey and N Johnson - "We want to annihilate them" No mercy on Rutgers.

Does the weight room produce speed?

Look at EVERY professional sprinter pretty much ever.
They are all built like RB's, not distance runners. That's not a coincidence.

Increases fast twitch muscles I think, in my case I’m so fast you can’t even see me.

The faster U can move a certain weight through a motion generally the more explosive u are. Say a kid is doing box squats with bands and weight, they will sit on box relax hips and then explode of as fast as they can. Builds starting explosion of the line at almost all positions. U could use bands chains or medium weight. But there is a point like Slayton squatting 700 lbs. he could easily do 800 but there is no need. That’s bull strong and pure power which linemen need but not other players.

Does the weight room produce speed?
Yes. Heavy lifting stimulates hypertrophy of fast twitch muscle fibers. Olympic style lifts train for explosive power. Superior conditioning delays fatigue and the lethargic reactions that accompany it.

we should really wonder why we had a pass rush vs FSU 5 star and not the 2-3 star WMU tsackles

WMU's O-line is a strength of theirs, mostly all returning starters/upperclassmen.
(see: SU in 2012 - you don't need 4-5* guys to have a great O-line, you need cohesion and experience)

FSU's was/is a M*A*S*H unit, with mismatched and inexperienced guys playing positions they are not at all familiar with, many for the first time, and none of them together prior.
