OT: Peyton Manning, Colts to "part ways"

After all the bluster and talk, I expected him to remain with the Colts. It will be very interesting to see where he ends up.

If he ends up a Viking I will blow a gasket. Pretty sure Cheesebrains and Bears are set at QB but Vikings? Ohhhhh Fuuuuuuudddddgggge. But it wont be fudge.

alright, this might sound dumb. Cant they release Manning which would make it so they didnt have to pay the bonus, and then resign him with a new contract? At alot less money? Manning could stay with Indy, and he could be there to coach up Luck... idk. Just throwing it out there...

Manning doesn't want to be paid like a back-up.

I figured.. I just thought he might have the "I wanna spend my whole career at one place" attitude, and say it.

if anyone picks him up will it cost anything in draft picks?

The article say they are going to release him, so probably not.

they way things are i wasnt sure-always some kind of clause

I think he ends up in Buffalo! - hey I'm a Bills fan, we have to amuse ourselves somehow...

His arm is way weaker than it was before... Whatever team picks him up isn't getting the real Peyton.

75-80% Peyton is still waaaaaaay better than 1/2 of the starting QB's in the league though.

4 cervical spine surgeries and he still wants to play? Think he's nuts to be playing with fate like this. Not that a hit would be the same force as a NASCAR wreck but it's unknown to most that Dale Earnhardt, sr. had some neck surgeries in the year before his wreck. A normal neck and he lives to drive another day. Again a blind side hit wouldn't have that impact but it could very well do life long permanent damage. Dudes nuts.

In my very first post on this board, I talked about my background and mentioned that I have spina bifida and am in a wheelchair. As someone with that experience, it makes me sick that some of these football players are so wreckless about potential neck injuries. And I don't mean for this to come across as being bitter about my personal situation. I am far from that - I love my life and get up looking forward to each day.

Manning is at his house in Miami and already met with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross Wednesday night.

12 teams have contacted Manning's agent already

I think Miami will take a real serious shot at him and I think manning will be interested, if ever there was a franchise in need to some good news and hope, I would say Miami is. They really need a shot in the arm, They have a solid D, some skill guys and probably with Peyton and a healthy R Bush are a playoff team, but have NE in conference is tough. Arizona or KC might not be a bad option either, don't see him with Wash or the Jets for various reasons. I found Denver to be interesting as well

Everyone keeps mentioning KC, I just don't see it. They have 1 WR in Bowe and a RB coming off major knee surgery. I don't get the attraction with that team. Aside from playing in a god awful division that team isn't any good in my eyes.

amen bro. Godspeed to ya.

Peyton already told the Skins...NO THANKS!

Now the Colts are looking to trade Freeney because he won't restructure his contract, Irsay says that this too has nothing to do with money. ;)

I actually think Denver would be an excellent landing spot for him. Everyone is saying well if the Broncos get Manning what do you do with Tebow?! Duhh. You have designed packages for Tebow that are wildcat-ish and give hime 4-6 series a game, and he gets a year or three to learn from one of the best QB's in the league. That is a win-win for me.

I think Denver's roster sucks and he will regret going there if he does. Even if they bring in Reggie Wayne with him that roster is nothing to write home about. Every RB on the roster is injury prone. The LT is decent the rest of the rest of the line is nothing special.

Every decent team (mins the miracle vs Pitt in the playoffs) they played late last year beat their brains in. Hell they got blown out by Buffalo when Buffalo couldn't beat anyone at that time.

I don't see it. But $$$$ talks and Denver has a lot of $$$ under the cap. So
