OT: Poor Kaiser UEO...

Did they at least shovel a path to the closest bar?!

My sister in law lives up there, I'll have to pick on her and her non plowed roads...

By the way, they haven't ran a plow down my road in a month..

Yea, I'm sure this was on purpose after the Ft. Lee/Christie fiasco. A politician would have to be seriously out of his/her mind to pull that with the other news so fresh. I think there may be another reason than payback. Or this mayor is seriously stupid.

I was driving on the UES this morning. All the cabs were spinning out and going nowhere. Luckily, I have 4WD and blew past them.

It wasn't even that bad.

I can say my aunt who lives on the UE in Manhattan was super-pissed that it was horrible there yesterday morning and Tuesday night. The plowing was horrible and if De Blasio wants to start a culture war that is the last thing we need right now.

He escaped the wrath of DeBlaso, now he's stuck at a toll both in Ft. Lee...

For those of us who do not live in Manhattan, Brooklyn in my case, I can't feel too sorry for those on the Upper East Side. Bloomberg's record of cleaning out Manhattan before he barely touched the rest of the city tended to piss me off. After the blizzards of a few years ago, it was at least a weak before our side streets even saw a plow. Heaven forbid someone needed an ambulance on one of those streets, or a firetruck. Bloomberg did some good work as far as the city economy, but I won't miss his arrogant ass and his attempts to micromanage people's lives. Not sure yet about De Blasio; may be a crazy on the other end of the deal. I know I am tired of ideology. I would like to see a whole lot more politicians who actually care about the people and bring a pragmatic approach to solving problems and improving life, politicians willing to compromise for what is best and not shoving their world view down our throats.

to be fair Manhattan's a little bit more important, considering most of the five boroughs work there...

But they can't get to Manhattan unless their own neighborhood is cleaned up first.

No question that manhattan was the priority under previous administrations...NYC would get a foot of snow and, two days later, you wouldn't even know it had snowed in midtown.

Meanwhile, several days later there would be segments on the news about (insert neighborhood here) in either the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn or manhattan north of about 110th street that had yet to see a plow.

Unclear yet if it was just the extreme cold or whether it was caused by a more equitable allocation of snow removal resources under DeBlasio, but midtown was a mess yesterday.

Snow removal has always been an issue in NYC. It, among other things, derailed Lindsay's '72 Presidential aspirations.

Agreed . Simply not enough resources to get it all done in a reasonable period of time across all five boroughs when you start getting accumulations of 10 inches or more...
