According to my 8yo, the kids were led (by staff) in a "We Are..." chant during his lunch period on Fridays during most of the football season. I found this really weird. Despite being in the same state, we're not very close to the university. I think Pitt is closer, even. I get the blue cult mentality but this just made me feel gross.
We have a D2 school in town. Those guys come to the elementary school often to interact with the kids and participate in assemblies. They also just played in a playoff game yesterday. Would have been nice to hear some support for them instead of Ped State.
