A few one-off thoughts:

-where is Craig Kilborn?
-Scott Van Pelt and Stephen A Smith are way too high
-John Saunders is way too low (he's not flashy like Vitale or Berman but was basically a perfect broadcaster)
-I love Kenny Mayne and would have him higher
-SUNY-Oswego has 2 out of the Top 12 on this list (Levy and Cohn)

For me, Kiper and Bilas seem too low.
MIA
Lee Corso and an old school call out for Mike Gorman (not studio but play by play)???????
And Beth Mowens...lol Just kidding on that one!!

How about a side note...Anybody remember Tom Mees (who I liked) getting pushed and pushing back the crowd that stormed the court at the dome??/ G=town game from early 80s

Berman
Patrick
Scott
Olbermann
SVP
Mayne
Eisen
Cohn

The Big show was the must see sports center in the 90’s and brings back all the nostalgia of watching sports as a kid and teenager in the 90’s. Stuart Scott and Rich Eisen were just behind them.

Some of them I wouldn’t count as studio guys. I love Bilas, but don’t really consider him a studio guy. Maybe he was and I’ve just forgotten.

Undying love for Berman and Greeny

tirico is way too low. And I don’t say that because he’s an SU grad. Guy can do just about any sport and do it great. And kornhesier and Wilbon are too high.

No Kilborn means it’s not a legitimate list.

STEINER
charlie had the thankless job of taking over for vin scully as dodger broadcaster. long time angelenos hate him, but i think he's great. i love baseball on the radio, it reminds me of "helping" my dad in the garage on summer nights. charlie & rick monday are a great radio duo.

I would put everyone who worked the studio in late 80s early 90s at the top of the list. Sports center at that time with Patrick snd Olbermann was remarkable must watch TV, and they ran it over and over. It was the absolute best to get up in the morning and watch the show repeatedly.

Agree with most takes above, kornheiser and Wilson are waaaay to high. Steiner, Mayne need to be higher. SVP is the best of the current guys, he’s really good.

Tom Jackson and Berman were awesome doing “Prime time” - which was the best of its genre at the time Id

Berman is a bit overrated. but his Schtick was really good back in the 80s.

Lots of upstate NY on that list.

Dick Schapp is way under-rated. I loved his intellect, his knowledge, his wry humor and his style. I watched The Sports Reporters each week just because of him. RIP, Dick Schapp..

Stephen A Smith is way over-rated. He is so loud and so unbearable...and usually so wrong. I literally cannot stand to listen to him. If he comes on screen, I change channels.

I would love to spend a Saturday watching sports and drinking brews with SVP
