Was in Dallas this past weekend and decided to head to the Cotton Bowl for the Red River Showdown between OU and Texas. Not being a fan of either team I figured I would rock my Syracuse T-Shirt! Needless to say I received plenty of nice shirt chants, go Cuse, is that a CUSE shirt, go Orange and even ran into a former Otto who went to SU and lives in Oklahoma. I was pleasantly surprised that many people must be somewhat fond of the CUSE. As a side note I had the chance to meet 1978 Heisman winner from Oklahoma Billy Simms before the game. He too noticed the CUSE shirt and said Jim Brown and that guy from Elmira would be proud! Side note it was great to see 2 solid football programs and their dedicated fans, needless to say the stadium was loud and full energy! If only we could ever get the dome back to that level..... Moral of the story we may not have a top 25 football program in the near future but football fans in Texas respect the CUSE!
