Your point about Rubio is invalid as Ricky has replaced Luke Ridnour not Flynn. Flynn clearly was not the same player after the hip injury as Rambis seemed to like him as a rookie.
 
Billups is the prime example of this but there are many others. One great one is ironically the person mainly responsible for Jonny's limited minutes. Kyle Lowry was a 1st round pick in 2006 and did absolutely nothing in Memphis or Houston while under Rick Adelman. Now he is having an All-Star season under McHale! Did Lowry just magically become a good player? No. More likely his kill set just meshs better with McHale than prior coaches. Tell me how you already know this won't be the case for Flynn.
