(I apologize ahead of time for this point of personal privilege.)
I just learned that a very nice guy passed on Friday. He was a former associate and the brother of a very good friend. He suffered from a rare degenerative disease that slowly made him blind and finally killed him.
One of the saddest days of my life was attending the service of Kevin's son who passed when the towers went down. Kevin was actually talking to his son (Brett) as he was making his way down the stairs when the cell phone went dead. I have never been able to get that thought out of my head. I think about it every 9/11.
Whenever I am tempted to feel sorry for myself over something foolish I usually think of Kevin's tragedy and realize how fortunate I am. Be thankful for what you have guys - it can be lost in an instant.
