The Jan. 1 email sent to the team on behalf of Director of Athletics Daryl Gross mentioned that SU had begun an “inquiry” into concerns raised by members of the team, though it is unclear if the inquiry involved Jensen or contributed to his resignation. Three current Syracuse women’s tennis players, who all agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity for fear of backlash, said they were interviewed by SU’s Title IX compliance officer and sexual harassment officer about their experience on the team at about the same time. Additional emails obtained through five Freedom of Information Act requests show that Jensen was also discussing 2015 matches with opposing coaches as recently as 16 days before his resignation.

Various players said that during their time on the team, Jensen made hurtful comments to them, threatened their scholarships or acted in ways that made them feel uncomfortable. One of them said that he rubbed cream on her legs without her permission.

You mean 350k isn't "market value" for a 1st time tennis HC? I'm sure DG got some valuable hitting time with Luke, so it was worth it.
At first I was for it (hiring him) but when I found out he was (essentially) a part time coach I knew this wouldn't end well. I don't put this all on Jenson...frankly a few of his players sound like lazy crybabies. If he truly stated I'm looking for players who want to play in the pros...it sends a message if you are on scholarship...you need to put in the work. The one that transferred came across like she loved the scholarship and the status it brings but wanted to skate on extra work.

How much revenue does tennis bring in? Honestly... zero?

I understand the whole Title IX thing, but $350k for a tennis coach is a joke. How could this have ever, ever been approved? Paying someone like $50k is more reasonable, and that's still high for a part-time gig IMO.

Give the extra $300k to the football program to pay better assistants.

50K? Good luck with that.

according to wikipedia, he resigned in January 2014 to pursue professional opportunities

...in other news, the NCAA has just started a 2 year investigation into the Pimp Jensen matter

I'm sure all those SU Tennis boosters paid for his salary.

I just don't fully believe these salaries are paid for by private donors.

Me either, but hey SU pays market value for 1st time Head Coaches, so clearly they needed to throw money to get Jensen to be a part-time coach. I'd love to find out where Q ranks among ACC coaches because I've heard he's another one with a big contract.

Maybe it's just 1st time Head Coaches of revenue sports that are at the bottom of the conference.

Not all of it is by any means but boosters pay for stuff all the time when it comes to athletics whether it be directly or indirectly and if you don't think that there a few boosters who write a few good size check every year for the women's lax program you are kidding yourself. I know it seems crazy to you because you aren't a fan but then again writing a big check for the Syracuse football team would almost crazier

The Richard Moran head coach of Cornell lacrosse.. Where do you think Cornell gets their money to pay their head coach of their men's lacrosse? I bet rich Moran has a large part of paying that salary? Do you?

Yeah, the only one with a leg to stand on here is the one with cream on it.
