Just got done moving my kid into his dorm at SU. The room in DellPlain is actually a bit better than I expected for space and storage. Not bad and he's got it set up nice.

Best part is when you open his room door to enter, the first thing that sits there right in front of you on a wall is a JB face. He was raised right.

I envy him. I close my eyes every now and then and say I want to go back. But it never works.

Congrats, Bees. Probably the best of two worlds--kid is far enough "away" at school to have some privacy, but close to home if he wants to get back.

you happen to see Diagne on campus? ;)

Wish I had. I remember being on campus when we were awaiting the Winfred Walton decision. Saw him in street clothes drain 17 straight 3's. True story.

When you get old like us Dash, we always wish we could go back and do things over or again. Especially being as smart as we are now.

Hope he loves it. I was pretty nervous about Mercer because I was the only one in my high school to go there. But college was truly the best 4 years of my life (I'm single with no kids or that would probably be different). I can remember going into last semester of my senior year being sad this could only last a few more months.

Thanks Ryan. He's always wanted to go to SU and we both agreed he'd live on campus. Independence is important IMO.

I think they redid Dellplain from the old days. They knocked down a bunch of walls and combined two smaller rooms into one bigger one.

Mine at Georgia St is killing me! Sent him over $4,200 last month. Me and the old lady were going to go to Vegas of our anniversary. He cleaned out my savings.:bang:

It looks a little worn, but not too bad. They may have knocked walls out to make some suites they have or some of the extra large doubles. He got a split double and I doubt it's been redone in awhile. Not bad though.

I had a split double as a frosh and soph way back when. Split is best amt of privacy and dorm is best location on campus other than Watson. I loved it there.

Loved my split double on Brewster 12 - the Penthouse!

Moved Evan in to Stony Brook on Friday, Rick. Good luck. Hope you and your wife are coping okay with the 1st to go.

Thanks. I ran into Evan a few months ago and he said he was going to Stoneybrook. He seemed happy with the decision. You probably know this but that's where Leo Rubio is at.

I still remember that terrible WRENCH when we took our first born to college. It's a huge shift. I wish your entire family luck on this new adventure!

I'm not gonna lie. I was doing cart wheels in the parking lot when we dropped our first off. My wife on the other hand.....

Very true. The day we dropped off my eldest I remember thinking our family would never be the same, no matter how many times she came back or summers she lived at home. It really is a huge shift.

Congrats to all of you! Job well done!

Congratulations Bees...I took my youngest to school last week as well. He's now a junior at William & Mary, Virginia's best state school (Sorry, UVA). I've been lucky to have two kids that wanted to go there. It's relatively cheap for Virginia residents, and reeks of history. Thomas Jefferson may have built the UVA but he went to school at W&M. He had discriminating tastes.
