Adidas has outbid its competitors to become the new supplier to University of Miami sports, ending the school’s pioneering partnership with Nike.

A source told The Palm Beach Post late Sunday evening Adidas and UM will announce their deal this week, thus beginning the process of replacing a brand connected to the Hurricanes for the last 27 years.

Nike lost Manchester United to Adidas recently also. Time will tell if Adidas is spending too much or Nike is getting cheap.

Wonder if this will impact their recruiting at all. The U and Nike have been pretty synonymous.

Nike didn't screw these up:

Must be that SU gets the design interns. ;)

I'd be willing to guess that other schools push back on Nike's original ideas while SU just says "we trust your judgement"

Oregon's uniform doesn't have either of its official colors green/yellow in it all. However, I doubt they care.

I wish Syracuse would leave Nike after they made us neuter Orangemen/women to Orange for branding purposes and have proceeded to take orange out of football jerseys and make silver numeral for men's basketball jerseys over orange.

I thought the silver had something to do with winning a title as part of their tribute, but cannot remember for sure.

I'd much rather stay with Nike. Still think they make the best looking uniforms. Would be nice if someone, on staff, would take a little more control and nix the questionable decisions (like no orange).

Too funny. Of course some people care. If this board has taught me anything it's that uniform opinions are like a$$holes... You know the rest :)

Well look at this...

The Ducks new white and gray Nike Pro Combat Hypercool baselayer features a fragmented diamond pattern with graphic angles representing the team’s 27 bowl appearances. The Oregon “O” is featured on the chest while the entire chest graphic is placed at a 27-degree tilt representing the team’s 27 bowl game appearances. The back of the garment features tonal sublimated mesh fabric for breathability along with the “Win the Day” mantra.

Nike botched the new Football uniforms, but have you seen some of the stuff Addidas and UA have put out over the years? Some has been hideous. I keep having flashbacks to those neon red and green striped uni's Louisville and ND had to wear for hoops. I thought this years Miami Football uniforms were some of the best they put out.

Everyone says Nike botched the new football uniforms, but we aren't the ones they are meant to appeal to. Recruits, for whatever reason, seem to like the uniforms and a lot of the younger (pains me to be in the older category!) people like them. Personally, I like parts of them and I do like that we have so many options, since from a recruiting standpoint that is a big deal. I do, like most of you, wish they included more orange, but again I we aren't the target audience.

Show me an Under Armour Uni besides Maryland's that is ugly.

You Can't

Maryland just has an ugly flag that they like to show off.

If it was up to me, 'Cuse would ditch Nike for UA, the up and coming brand in athletics.

Michigan fans hate Adidas, and I completely agree. Nike is far superior, though I'd be open to UA.

I've thought some of their Navy uniforms have been really gaudy.
