So too with Shafer, in his first season as head coach.  Very important to keep in mind that this was a role change that he hadn't performed before.  There were definitely speed bumps.  But the staff collectively improved by year's end.

Marrone was similar in many respects.  He came in and was very solid in some areas, not as good in others, struggled a bit on game day, but he and the staff got better season-over-season with experience.  Our group will do the same.

And damn, Shafer assembled a group of guys who can recruit!  No doubt in my mind that this staff is going to take our program to the next level.
