But if you look at the 3 final four teams since then:
1. 1996 - Lazarus Sims, Todd Burgan
2. 2003 - Hakim Warrick, Josh Pace
3. 2013 - Jerami Grant, Southerland
This year, no one emerged, no one got better during the season. Is that due to JB's use of the bench? Or just that the players were who we thought they were (to quote Dennis Green)? Hard to say but it seems like we make our best runs when a player emerges mid-year -- especially if it's a bench player. And that just didn't happen this year.
