Who do we want?
- Temple to pull off the upset so we won't have to play mighty Indiana and can then gain revenge on the first team to beat us this season?
- Indiana because we'd rather be in the underdog position and could gain a sort of revenge for losing to them in '87?
The one thing I want each year if we don't win it all is to feel that "We went about as far as we can go": that we lost to a superior team and played reasonably well in doing so. As long as it's not a blow-out or a controversial ending, i can handle that better than losing to a team that seems otherwise to be our inferior, especially if it would be the second time we've lost to them, (see Marquette two years ago and Massachusetts in the NIT).
I've been told that that is a "defeatist attitude" but so is thinking we can't beat Indiana. We've beaten teams we weren't supposed to beat before, (North Carolina and Kansas, both multiple times). So I'll be rooting for the Hoosiers today.
