I believe each of those 8 QBs, other than T-Hunt, started from scratch which is to say no previous experience playing QB in college (Mahoney was a JV QB at a community college I think).  That's like starting from zero on offense 7 times at the most important position in less than two seasons.   On the other side of the ball at the end of last season most of the defense either graduated or left early, something like 8 starters.  All told it is a recipe for a slog.  You can see the same kind of struggles at some other P5 schools under similar circumstances.  Next season SU will be better with HCSS or with anyone else.   I have no doubt.  This season was always about battling to make a bowl with T-Hunt back in the saddle.   That ended during the first quarter of week one.  It's frustrating but it happens.  SU has been down so long now that I have learned to exercise patience.   SU is primed to improve and will continue to move in the right direction.  Right now I have no idea who will coach SU, but I will be excited whoever it is including if it remains HCSS.   Go Cuse!!
